Sensei Charles Dela Riva 4th Dan and Sensei Michael Mallon 1st Dan

Tae Kwon Do translates from Korean to English as “The Art of Foot and Hand Techniques”. “Do” refers to the Way of the martial artist to become one with himself and one with the universe. This martial art is known as a “striking art” or “hard style” of karate. It uses powerful kicking and hand techniques to vital areas of the body to defend against attackers.

The class consists of conditioning and strengthening exercises aimed at improving muscle tone, balance, stamina and coordination. It continues on to kicking drills, punching drills, forms and self-defense. Confidence is enhanced through continuous training intended to instill an instant and subconscious reaction if attacked. All classes are taught in a traditional Tae Kwon Do Manner.

You will learn the Korean terms for all punching and kicking techniques. There are no secrets in TKD; benefits will be gained through hard work and perseverance. Classes for Adults, Teens and Children over 8 years old. There are no contracts.

Chung Moo Kwon Tae Kwon Do traces its history back to the Silla dynasty about 1,400 years ago. Tae Kyon, as it was known them, is the ancient name of Tae Kwon Do. It was used by a group of young men know as Hwang-Do to meet a National Crisis. During the Japanese occupation after the YI Dynasty, hand techniques were introduced from both China and Japan to this traditional art enabling hand and foot techniques to be combined into one.
